6 Drops Of Essence Of Terror, 5 Drops Of Sinister Sauce
SATURDAY
After racing Friday I thought best to make Saturday recovery run day and do a longer one Sunday. Met up with the gang at 5.30am and after going to Sydney St ferry via the Story Bridge left them all and ran back along the floating walkway and on to South Bank.
All up around 11k. Not far, but I used it to start practicing with my Canberra race day special potion - Berry Fierce Gatorade powder mixed to directions with a scoop of Ultra Muscleze and a good pinch of organic sea salt harvested from the salt fields of Brittany, France ...
Yikes, hope they wash it first.

SUNDAY
A later start (6am) and change of venue (The Regatta) for those who wanted a run toay. Conditions were perfect, gotta love running this time of year. We headed out via UQ and over the Go-Between's Bridge, via West End, then back over the Victoria Bridge, around 16k or so.
I wanted to practice with my drink again and was hoping to run my next weekends pace but was a bit too fast overall. The first half was around 5:10s, and the second half around 4:50s, finishing the loop in 1h19m.
I got a few sarcastic grumblings from my running buddies who accused me of setting a mean pace all the way ... Celeste and Andrew, I know you were joking and loved every minute of it ;-)
Still, I couldn't resist hitting them with my favourite Glenda motivational quote "toughen up!" :-)

If you use that much salt you'll look like Krusty the Clown at the end. Hope the secret potion works out so you can have a good race on Sunday. 7 more sleeps.
It that stuff legal Tess??
And what a pace hound you are for Sunday's effort. But it does show you are looking good for next week.
Tesso setting a mean pace?? Never!! :-) :-)
You take it easy this week.

Of all the Gatorade flavours, the berry one is the one I like the least. It also seems to leave a fairly permanent stain in the waterbottles!
Hope it works for you though.
LOL. Check out the stubby's on the salt dude!
Looking forward to catching up with you this weekend Tes. No doubt I'll see you beforehand but just in case - BEST OF LUCK. You'll have a fantabulous race :-)
That's some chemical cocktail Tesso. In the old days, you know, when Ewen was young they'd just lick their own foreheads if they needed salt while running.
An interesting sounding potion, all the best for next w/e
Make sure you don't stand too close to any exposed flames with that concoction.
Yikes, quick training run. Well done.
