An Inconvenient Truth

Seems a bit strange for mid September but it was another coolish start this morning - so much for global warming ;-) I was a bit reluctant to take off my long sleever even after the warm-up to West End. When we got there Pat announced we'd be doing 6 x 2 minute efforts with a 30 second fast jog recovery.

It didn't sound too hard but it sure was. In hindsight for me it was like 500m reps with a shorter than usual recovery. No wonder it hurt! Everyone busted a gut for the final one only to discover there was more in store for us - about six short sprints. Talking to others they all agreed it was a tough session. It sure felt good to finish.

It wasn't so good afterwards however. By the time I got home my left ITB (what used to be the good one) made its presence known. Very annoying, just as things seemed to be back to normal. Though truth be told its been niggly for a while and I've been trying to manage it by stretching and rolling etc. So I did a bit more of that and then got out the massage stick and attacked it. I also took an anti-inflam with lunch ... Celebrex not Voltarin :-)

I'll put it though the same treatment this evening, substituting a glass of red for the Celebrex.

Oh no. Hope that ITB goes away. Wine does sound like a good idea though as I'm sure it will cure anything.

Looks like GR beat me to the pun for this one. Does that mean you saw the film?
And are you into your tapering phase yet for the big double-birthday bash weekend?
What about the signed t-shirt from Dazza for Mrs BB?

Yep the red will help - very medicinal.

Look on the bright side - now your bad leg is your good leg ;-)

Take care mate.

Hmmm...take care of that thing! Otherwise we are going to have both you and GoGirl down for the count at the same time...and that would not be a good thing.

Dr Don prescribes a whole bottle of red for most conditions, and 2 bottles for itb.

It's an inconvenient truth that Newcastle knights with Andrew Johns are unbeatable. Statistics don't lie!

It was a tough session .... more so than others. A flare up might not be too much to worry about and it could be just that the limits were reached. I hope that by backing off a little will keep you at your peak, pain free.
