No Better, No Worse

Set out yesterday for the usual Wednesday morning Regatta run. I was running on my own because I missed the 5.30am start, it was 8.25am when I got out. The dirty rotten low lives didn't wait for me. Whatever happened to the 2hr 55min rule.

With thoughts of Warwick in my head (the Pentath-run, not Capper) I thought I'd try to go a little further than Monday and so ran into and around the Gardens. I wanted to throw in some smallish hills and running on the grass just to see the impact on my knee. Neither seemed to do any harm.

Heading for home I got to just past the 8k point (like Monday) and the pain started. So from then on it was a matter of running for while, then stopping and stretching and then running until it hurt again, stopping and stretching etc all the way back. Did a total of 12k, which actually brings up 983k for the year.

My MRI is 6 o'clock tonight. The doc doesn't work Fridays so means he can't check the results and tell me not to run at Warwick. How unfortunate ;-)

Have fun in the tube. You certainly know how to pick your doctor! Seriously, though, don't go overboard at Warwick. You have been so admirably restrained and patient so far.

Do you watch Desperate Housewives? You don't need to take your clothes off for an MRI!

So another 17km is the target then :)

You're sounding so positive, which is just fantastic, Warwick is going to be great and hills and grass no longer seem a problem (how about the odd horse-jump!!).

Hope the MRI results (when you eventually get them!) help get you back on track.

2hr 55min rule!!!! I told them to wait according to that rule but no-one would listen.

Next time......

We were running so slow on the way back and even considering turning around because we thought we had missed you and you had already past us!!

Best of luck mate with the MRI. They are really painful and it is terrible to be suffocating in such small confines - feels like being locked in a coffin.

Okay so now I have put the fear of god into you....the Pentath run wont' seem as scary anymore!! (see what a good friend I am)....

You will be totally fine and no there is no pain to an MRI :)

Can't wait to hear your good news and see you Friday night. If I get there too late I will thump on your wall to say goodnight. You can thump on mine at 4am to wake me up *grins*

Speaking of Capper I have heard that the MRI tube is as tight as his pants :)

Seriously, with regard to your training that is a great improvement from what you were doing few weeks ago.

See you on the weekend.

Must be a Team J thing... 8k was the pain barrier for me when I was getting over my ITB/Quad issues.

Like Steve said - don't over-do it... It is great to read about you running though.

Good onya mate :-)

Hills? Ah, bugger. What on earth are they? I haven't been near a hill in about 8 months now. LOL, Sunday morning is going to be interesting ;-)

Best of luck with the MRI Tesso. Isn't waiting terrible? I'd give anything for instant results in these situations.
