Watch This Space

Since my last posting I've pretty well stuck to the 12 step plan. Well, 13 if you include the red wine :-) It sure has helped keep me a little sane, its good have some sort of a 'program' to follow and I'm hoping its not my imagination that I'm feeling stronger for it all, especially the abs.

I saw Adam the physio on Friday afternoon. He said the leg muscles had really loosened up but the glutes were still tight. Must remember to try and stretch them more.

Next up we went through the exercises. I shouldn't have improved so much cos now he's given me harder ones. I'm still doing squats where I move from one side to the other. And there's now one legged forward step downs, lunges putting the forward leg on the round bit of the bosu, and squats on the flat bit of the bosu (those things are sooooo hard to balance on). After all that I got zapped for 10 minutes and then he started manipulating the head of my fibular, pushing it out a bit. Its something he said to continue doing myself to stop it from leaning in a bit as it tends to do. Gosh being injured is fun.

Anyway, after all this I was expecting some good news on the return to running front .... and I got it! Knowing what I had in store for the weekend (helping out with the Brisbane Marathon) he said I could start again early this week. Just 4 or 5km the first day. Then running every second day and increasing it by about 1 or 2k each time. And doing lots of icing afterwards.

Tomorrow will be the day. Today was never a chance unless I was to get up at 4.30am as I'm working 6am to 7.15pm. Some public holiday, maybe that's why its called Labour Day. At least it gives me a chance to put my feet up :-)

Great news Tesso, your Physio sounds much better than mine allowing you to increase your runs every other day.

Is there an injury catagory for Warwick maybe we can battle it out against each other. Cass has offered to escort us holding an esky full of ice and some red for yourself to get us through ;)
