Green Light Go

Yesterday at PCRG it was efforts (5mins, 4mins, 5mins, 3mins, a hill), and it was an effort. I was struggling, both physically and mentally. I think I was just really tired from working the night before. I was happy to push through and get it done.

Saw physio Adam later in the afternoon after spending 80 mins at the gym. Not sure if that was the best idea, then again he got to see the effects of both a hard PCRG session and all my strengthening exercises. Anyway, the good news is he's give me the okay to totally resume my normal program - yay!

So by my calculations that gives me three days training before its taper time for the Gold Coast .... I started with a rest day today :-)

Glad you can finally get back to normal training! Hopefully you well get some good training in for the next races. Good luck at GC maybe that's one for me to do next year :)

Because of my injury pre-canberra and my relatively light training load leading up to GC, I am only going for a two week taper.

Just toss the GCM. Get in shape for Johnny Dark PB beating at C2S.

I think the 'Miners reverse taper' could be the go.

Or Eagle's full training then 3 days off before the race.

Perfect timing! Take 3 rest days and then start your taper. Couldn't have managed it better myself :-)

Rest is an important part of any training program Tesso, even one that is just starting ;-)

Is it that time already?!! I can't believe GC is here already - where did the time go? Too many lazy mornings for me - I'll be doing the miner's reverse taper!! But then again, I'm only doing the 10k :) Good to hear you got the green light from the physio.

That's great you've got the green light, though it doesn't look like you were holding back much anyway. Thanks for the tip on over striding, you could have something there and I will watch that.

I'm just catching up now and it's already taper time for GC. Thanks for posting those hamstring exercises back in May - very interesting, although I don't think I'd have the patience to do them all!

by the time you next post, i expect you would have had the rest and a long run to boot. perhaps a shorter taper? hmmm, maybe just revise the goal a tad so you stay injury free for the rest of the year (nothing to do with you being ahead of me at GCM of course ;-) )
