Saturday Socialising

Tara & Ciaran had planned to do 24k on Saturday morning and I contemplated hanging in with them. But they had issues with thier alarm clock and weren't at The Regatta for the 6am start. Tori and Jan were doing the Story Bridge loop (16k or so) which sounded good to me.

It was really fun, just cruising along chatting. Sheryl caught up to us eventually and then coming back along the bike path towards home we bumped into Radar and his dog Darcy The Chick Magnet and so we had the pleasure of their company for a while. They diverted up over the Vic Bridge and next thing Clairie loomed up from behind and joined us.

I left them all at The Regatta and continued on out towards UQ and back (just over 4k). This meant a few little hills. Friday my left knee (the so called good one) had been a bit sore and at this stage of the run both of them were feeling the impact :-( So I don't think I'll be doing much, if any, specific C2S training. The sub 67 goal has been revised to sub 68.

Last night was the PCRG annual dinner. And what a fantastic night it was. After the huge build up to the Gold Coast it was a good opportunity for everyone to let their hair down, or, in some cases, put it up :-)

And the tradition lives on ...

What the...???

You can't say "and the tradition continues" without explaining why people are wearing napkins on their heads.

Interesting head gear. This maybe useful for running in disguise past Johnny Dark at C2S. I was still aiming for sub 55, but that seems unlikely at present. But I'm still aiming anyway.

That's a lovely post, Tesso. And I must say you ladies scrubbed up very nicely. You even had Pat looking smooth, which is saying something. I am amazed how different people look out of their running gear. I caught up with one member of my Saturday running group yesterday for coffee and I commented how different she looked with makeup on and looking all girly like. Her response floored me though. She said she looked different this time because she had her clothes on. There's some strange logic here....so you looked normal with your clothes off???? Seriously, though, what beautiful women they have in Brissie.

I don't recall posing for any of those photos hee heee hee

A great night, though unfortunately I am still paying for it. My neck is a bit stiff from throwing it around all night.

And WTF my feet have no skin on them? They are more blistered from last night than any run I have done. Then again Allan said when I got back to the hotel I was barefoot *grins*

yeap ... I missed the tradition from last year (I presume) also. I thought the tradition you guys had was to get one of your hairy legged blokes to wear sun-dresses occasionally?

... and I do have to say you all looked lovely without the napkins too :)
