Easy Eight

Its not so hard running straight after a night shift if I don't have to work again that night, but in between two its always difficult physically and mentally. That was the case this morning. So I delayed going until this arvo.

I just ran a cruisey 8k or so, posting my Glasshouse entry (24k on 29th July) along the way. I wanted to enjoy the run rather than putting any pressure on myself so I didn't wear a watch or look at the time before I left. I did look at my wrist a few times while I was out there though :-)

I do that too if I don't wear a watch! I'll be up in Brissie a few times in Aug and Sept so hope we can catch up for one of our lovely coffees. I'll let you know the exact dates next week.

Hey Tesso

Hope you've gone out and bought the newly-released Sherbet and Cowntdown DVDs!!!

Unfortunately no Boz Is The Buzz on Countdown, but some good (and bad) clips to take you back...

My neighbour at college was Silk-Degrees obsessed back then; I don't think I could ever bear to listen to It's Over ever again - he must have had it on repeat (somehow) every day for about two months!

Good to hear the entry form went in, I sent mine a few days ago, I am really loking forward to it.

It's nice to just chill and have a casual training day, very sensible especially with night shift.

Now that's a REAL run! Glad you left the watch at home and took the time to enjoy it.

A few people have talked about putting pressure on themselves lately. When is appropriate and when isn't?
It can make you or it can break you.
Enough waffle now.
Looking forward to C2S but my CR cap hasn't come back after i sent it to Mr Tiller when it didnt fit my 58cm nogin!
More waffle...time for bed!

Hi Tesso, I just love those no pressure runs and good on ya for going 'cold turkey', without the watch. Not easy to do. Thanks so much also for the beautiful comment you left on my blog. You're a treasure to the running world and your great attitude is a credit to you.

I've also just remembered to say that it would be great to catch up when you are next in Canberra. It would be even better if you could run with my Saturday group if that could be arranged (your comment on my recent Mt Taylor post refers).

I'm fortunate now that I don't have to work night shifts. When I did, from memory, on getting home, the first thing I did was hit the sack. If I had to work proper shift work again I'm sure that would serverely interfere with my running.

It is hard not too look at a watch while running. Especially if you are wearing one :-)

The Glasshouse run I suspect will not be an easy one! All the best for the race.

Re a comment you left on blog, Ballarat is the location of the next cross country race for the AV crowd.
