The Autumn of Tesso

Not doing much aside from stretching, the physio exercises, massaging etc etc. My knee feels a fair bit better, but to make up for that my hip hurts.

CR Daedal, in a message of support, compared my condition to that of George Costanza's in the Seinfeld episode 'The Summer of George'.

Doctor: Mr. Costanza. Your legs have sustained extensive trauma. Apparently your body was in the state of advanced atrophy, due to a period of extreme inactivity. But with a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, I think there's a good chance you may, one day, walk again.

Tesso, your mind has sustained extensive trauma. But with a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, I think there's a good chance you may, one day, run again.

The words "Tesso" and "Extreme Inactivity" just dont go together in the one sentence~!!

It was a moment of hilarity when I met up with you yesterday. I thought 'but you look so good'. Then realised whilst I think of you being in a coma and isolated life actually does go on. It is only running (as opposed to breathing) that you can't do at the moment.

With the pain subsiding I am very confident that you will be back in next to no time running past me like a ghost.

Can you believe I went to Pat's this morning and knew only about 8 people!!! How sad. They actually thought I was the new girl!!!

Hope you are getting some good sleep in now and making plans for your music and packing your bag etc etc. Might as well get organised whilst you wait for Tuesday morning.

Tesso,

I was a amused by your comment to me the other day about the 28k BBRC run. You don't like 7k loops. Thought that was a little cheeky from someone who ran 105.529k around a 500m circuit at Caboolture.

Still got my fingers crossed for you for Canberra.

Tesso if you are in a state of advanced atrophy then I am a decaying corpse. Life is one continuous Spring Tesso. It will always be so for you.

A wise person once said..."this too shall pass.."
And like the changing of the seasons it will until it is but a distant memory,in the mean time just don't push it because it won't be worth it!

Get well soon R2B

Sending good vibes your way Tesso. Canberra Marathon won't be the same if you aren't running. I'm sure you will be on that start line though.
