Zoom Zoom Zoom

Friday morn went back to PCRG for another session of 4 x 4 mins, though this time I held back a bit. I wanted to try out my new shoes, Nike Air Zoom Elite, which I won at Warwick. They were a random prize kindly donated by fellow five time Warwick-er Peter Hall who owns and operates Victory Sports at the Gold Coast. They felt great, though I think I'll save them for shorter stuff like speed work for the time being. I like the green :-)

Saturday morning met up with Mat and Sal early and we put in about 4.5k before hooking up with the 6am crew. Not sure how far we ran altogether as Mat's Garmin exploded along the way, I'm guessing 25k.

That evening was the PCRG annual dinner. What a top night! So much seemed to happen and it was all over way too fast. I'll post some pics tomorrow. There were so many great moments but one of the highlights of the night was the announcement that in our Gold Coast campaign we raised well over $17000 for Childhood Cancer Support!

Took the Nike's for another run at lunchtime today. I'm not used to running on my own so was happy to bump into Little Claire (who thankfully was walking so at least I could keep up!) and then later on Annie. A very leisurely 11k all up.

Hey great effort raising those funds. Nice looking shoes too. Should be some good speed workouts coming up.

That fundraising is fantastic, Tess, and for a great cause too. Well done. Love the snazy shoes.

I hadn't realised Pat had an annual dinner on the program. I really do envy you having the PCRG in your back yard. I have really enjoyed those runs when I get to Brissie and the annual dinner and other social events would be great way to top off involvement with the group.

Is little Claire related to big Claire?

I hope the aircon wasn't breezing down on you Saturday night. I know it's just sooooooo cold up there.

Great work on raising the $17,000 for kids cancer support.

Running 25 km but not really knowing you ran 25 km, I'd be so frustrated.

I was also most impressed by the 17,000 squidaroos. Great job PCRG! Also good to hear that Clairie is still alive. Was she "glowing" ;-)

Cute shoes! I picked up some very cute shoes too while I was away but none are suitable for running!
Well done on your GC marathon - no wonder you were pleased considering the injury problems you've been plagued with lately. Just imagine what you can do in Melbourne!
I'm about to go out for my second run this week - just waiting for the sun to make an appearance (wishful thinking methinks!).
