Was It Something I Said

Did another PCRG session Friday (same as Thursday) and then the 18k green bridge loop Saturday. Though this time we went in reverse, which is a bit harder hill wise. Still, I like the fact that we do West End bit first rather than making an optional 5k extra at the end.

It was a good run, averaging 5:10 pace for the 18k, though Mat tells me there were a few sub 5s in there, and one km was a 4:38. With a few km to go some of the guys were several hundred metres in front so I put the foot down and finally caught them 1k from the finish. Toasty took one look at me (I was huffing and puffing from the effort) and with an evil grin said something like "let's go guys" and they all bolted :-)

Haven't run since Saturday - still milking the old marathon recovery for all its worth. But really its this cold weather, it makes it so difficult to get motivated and get out there. Last month was our coldest June since 1950, I wouldn't be surprised if its a similar thing for July.

Well it was 5 degrees this morning on the coast. I guess we get a warm sea breeze compared to Spuds -2c.

Yeah, I'm having trouble doing anything before lunch time - it was 3 degrees when I rode to work on Friday..... Call me soft, but I think it's about time I moved back to Queensland!

That wasn't very nice to just run away from you like that. Though it did sound like fun ;-)

Enjoy your holiday. If you want to come somewhere warm, try Japan! The typhoons, earthquakes and associated deluges and mudslides should be over soon...

Right again Tess! You wouldn't like it here in Winter one little bit. I'm starting to dislike it more myself each winter....nothing to do with age though just that I keep thinking how good it would be on the Gold Coast right now!

Oh, dear you Queenslanders are complaining about the cold again! Minus 7 for us yesterday morning and I was out there doing battle in it :)

Nice run there Tess. That old cow of a marathon recovery should be milked for all you can get out of it.

Sounds like you are really enjoying it.

you can steal photos off me any time my friend! A little bird tells me you are winging down to NSW soon. I hope we'll be able to catch up.

Cold? You should see the snow on the Brindys!

I had 4 layers on this afternoon - I think that's why I'm running slower - arrive home with 4kg of sweat-soaked clothes.

Ask Robert Song if you can borrow some of those old jumpers I gave him.
