Nikki is Cold
Tuesday morn at PCRG was 1 minute efforts. Though I couldn't really call mine 'efforts' as I spent most of the time running with Tara and chatting. The last couple I ramped it up from half-hearted to about three-quarter-hearted.
Wednesday was supposed to be a lap of Mt Coot-tha with Mat. But it was also supposed to be 5 degress so I was a Neville No-Show.
This morning at PCRG we had 4 min efforts with a 30 sec SR. I figured it was about time I pulled my finger out and got stuck into it. Trouble is I thought Pat said we were doing three of them so gave it my all on the third only to find we had to do another. That hurt. Felt good but.
Speaking of all things 4 according to the Met Bureau when we set off the temp was sub 4, and the apparent temp was under 1. Even my eyes were cold! I can't recall ever rugging up so much to run, layer upon layer. Just call me Sarah Lee. Or Nikki.

So it was - mouths chatting and teeth chattering?
Cold? Hadn't noticed! .... Are you sure?
I.....hate.....the..*****...cold.
What part of being in Qld does Brisbane not get at the moment?
A bit of cold never hurt anyone. I wasn't sure about the Nikki reference till I clicked through to your blog and saw the YouTube window. I'd say she is in need of an enormous piece of cheese, that one.
Apologies to our mate Lulu but nobody can whinge like the English.
Last time I heard "I'm not going in there" spoken with such meaning I was 16 and the girl was referring to my bedroom!
Oh, time for a mea culpa from me Tess. Yes, I admit it does get cold in Qld and I saw some figures for Warwick and Stanthorpe, well into the minuses. I am sure it is cold in Brissie too.
But what you are getting, though, is our cold air from down south. We have had the first taste of it down here and taken the chill out of it. You're getting the hotter version.
Congrats on the marathon Tess! I have been a bit slack reading the blogs. I love that feeling of a perfect run :-)
I am with you....the cold is so hard to get out in- especially in the mornings and especially if you have a good excuse like recovery to fall back on :-)
i am hoping that was you that i gave a hug to under the balaclava and layers of wool. no wonder you couldn't hear Pat saying "4" efforts.
We were running around in frosty fields on Tuesday. My toes were still numb even when the session was over. After getting back from the US summer, I am having a lot of trouble dealing with the cold. Now I have a cold. Hurry up C2S and the beginning of warm weather in Sydney, I say.
Man, I think Niki needs a blogger punch in the guts! Is she even a real person?
At least you got up for your run - I decided it was too cold (and it had warmed up to a balmy 4 degrees).
I think chatting and running is a notable effort. Good on you, and please don't mention the COLD!
ILIKETOAST lies!!!
He's taking long showers just to get warm. I'M DOBBING!
Aren't you Brisvegasites always saying "Oooh, i's sooo ho' in 'ere!
Nikki is giving your everyday whinging pom a bad name. She needs to chill out with a few Britneys and just nonchalantly tell BB "good job buddy, hoo roo".
Now you know why I run at night. Much warmer. That is cold for Brissie. Wear ear warmers, arm warmers, beanies, tights and then you'll be hot within a k, and not feel the cold.
Well done counting steps for 4 minute reps! The jury is still out on what tempo is optimum for what event for non-elites, but a quick stepping distance type like Tesso would have to strengthen up her quads (etc) and lengthen her stride to run faster, I would think; the tempo's not a problem. Doing all that might not be desirable or even possible. I have put a long answer on my blog.
