Back On Track

Its our TT next Tuesday so that meant 500m reps yesterday. I was rapt to record my best ones in months - 1:55, 1:52, 1:57, 1:55, 1:58, 1:52. The first, third and fifth are slightly uphill ... which means the others are slightly downhill :-) I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for the little pack of 8 or so of us that I ran in, we dragged eachother along each time.

Did another lunchtime run today, 15k in 1:13.30 (av 4:54s). Though I pushed harder in the second half to negative split it by 1m30s. Feels like a good start to the Melbourne Marathon training.

A more few pics from the GC (thanks Pat!). Let's hope I feel this good in the final kilometre in October .... or at any stage of the race for that matter :-)

Very impressive reps. You look great in the picture, far too good for a marathon.

Thats too happy. You should have run faster. Melbourne in October should be fast then.

You always look so happy racing :)
By the time Melbourne marathon comes around you'll be flying past the camera so fast you'll just be a blur!

Stop making marathons look easy!

You'll have to top that with cartwheels or 'Toyota jumps' in Melbourne :)

Yes as Eddie and Ewen,

You look like an Oscar winner, a valium user and a born again Christian all rolled into one.

Hallelujah!

I'm joining the queue late here but I want to say well done too. They're great splits Tess and you are having a purple patch for sure. I can't see any reason why it can't be an extended one.

So at what point in the race were those photos taken? You were looking great! I probably won't be doing the C2S this year - having real problems with motivation at the moment :-(

Tesssssoooooo!

Have just logged into my emails and discovered today was perhaps your last (EVER!) day in Brisbane!

A thousand apologies for not getting to say goodbye. You have had a huge impact on both my running and my career and I will truly miss you!

You have been a wonderful inspiration to me and a great friend. Thank you for all your supportive and wise words.

All my bests and I look forward to catching up with you soon!

Yes, Tesso is it true? Have you defected to hostile territory. Once a Queenslander, always a Queenslander I say. I hope you remember the colour of your spots.

I want to get to the finish without doing a calf or anything else silly. Not backing off much this week, so would be happy with 65-70. OK, an 'A' goal would be within 5 minutes of your time.

I remember you saying "folks are dumb where I come from"... now it all makes sense ;)

See you Sunday.
