Won't Get Fooled Again

Tom and I slipped out before the end of our shift to do a PCRG session. Yep, last time was so good he's going back for more! We worked out rather than drive it would be quicker to run to the Ship Inn and then run straight back to work from The Gardens. It meant a way longer warmup and a shorter warmdown but what the heck.

Today was 5 mins, 4 mins, 5 mins, 4 mins with 30secs standing recovery. I like these longer efforts, I feel the strength and endurance from the long runs really kick in, especially for the last couple of reps. That said I busted a gut coming home in the final 4 minute one only to find ... you guessed it, we didn't stop at 4 minutes. Pat made us continue on up the hill and around the corner, how could I forget that he always does that to us. It really hurt!

I've finished work for the week now and so have decided to do my long run (35k) tomorrow. Its going to be tough on my own, I'd better get some really good music happening on the iPod.

Hehehe, when will we learn. I didn't mind the extra bit. It wasn't much of a hill. Its not like the hill up to the cafe.

All the best for you solo long run. I'll send you some motovation.

Won't get fooled again HA! Yes you will - we all do!

Was a great session and I totally enjoyed it when Pat said on the last effort ' heh Claire can you take the music up to that hill up there and wait for us'.... beautiful. So the last effort for me was a 500m walk. :)

Oh yes you will! Like anyone that enjoys running, and gets a buzz out of training, you'll always put in the extra on the last rep, even if that means it will hurt when the extra is announced.

Have fun on the solo long. Hope the music does it's job.

35k's seems such a long way, Tess, and especially when you are doing it solo. Don't bust a gut, Tess.

I drove about 3.5k to work this morning and I just might drive that home as well. I have a secret goal for the 50k which will come out when I finish the race. Until then everyone can guess.Your blog fell off the bloglines notifier some how, so I havn't been ignoring your running.

Hope you remembered to charge the battery. It'd be terrible to set a PB for length of time running without music, like CJ did at Six Foot ;)

If Flakey runs sub-3, I bet he doesn't do the 50!

I thought you were going to say that when you left work early all of a sudden all hell broke loose, so it good to hear that Pat has not changed his training shenanigans :-)

So like toasty said are we going to see you on Sunday?

I often wonder what doing a long run with other people would be like. Is it really that much easier?

I'm with Robert,

I've never done a long run with anyone else. And this is not due to my lack of any apparent personality, it is because I prefer it this way.

But as far as running such things as 3K TT there is , I reckon, no better way than to run in groups. Not that I've done that either though.

Come to think of it, I just might be a bastard and not realise it yet.
