When Efforts Seem An Effort

Once again it was a bit of a struggle starting off at Pat's this morning. I really felt like sleeping or doing nothing rather than running.

After a long warmup we regrouped at the River Stage and did 2 lots of '4 mins fast, 30 sec jog, 2 mins fast, 30 sec standing recovery'. Judging by who was around me I wasn't doing too badly, so that made me feel a little better.

To finish off it was one last longer effort all the way over the Goodwill Bridge and up to Vulture St. I did just the final bit of hill a second time, and then as others were going back right to the end of the bridge to do the long haul to the top again I joined them.

I filled out my Canberra entry yesterday. And ticked the 50k box. So I'd better find that lost motivation .... its gotta be around here somewhere.

Sounds like your mojo is still in bed. Take a couple of days rest and im sure you will both get up together for your next training session.

I wish you the best training for Canberra. That should be fun. I have confidence that you'll raise to the occasion.

I was expecting the same old, same old.

So, are you going to do an over-distance training run for the 50k? ;) Ticking the box is the easy bit :)

Thanks for the reminder...I need to fill in my entry as well - the standard 42.2 will do me though!

With all your travel to and from Sydney, you should try an Ultra instead of flying/driving.

Enjoy the Bay Run.

50k? Good luck with that too Tesso (backs away cautiously and suspiciously)...

Motivated or not Tesso, you just seem to keep on working hard. My running buddy is trying to talk me into the 50 but I am NOT doing it.

I suspect you just feel slow, but are still going speedy :-).

Again, have a good EASY weekend, and next week you'll feel great. Maybe even just marshall at the CR 5kTT instead of running.

Don't worry about looking for your mojo, tess. Just relax and enjoy where you are at the moment and it'll find you soon enough :-)

See you Saturday!

Hope you find that motivation before the Broncos find their tickers. It is a bit frosty over in the UK.

Good luck with the 50km preparation.

It doesn't look like I will be running Canberra, Tess, so wont get the chance to see you on the day. Needless to say, I will be thinking of you and all my other friends who will be there.

50k's! That puts you into a very special category of runner. Whether you do the run or not, finish or not, you will always impress simply by the way you approach and write about our sport.

You do such a good job of motivating the rest of us and I would think some of that energy could be well used on yourself.

50km at Canberra is some goal.

You are the most motivated person I know. I'm sure you will be back on that horse in no time.
