Easy Like Thursday Morning
With Caboolture just a couple of days away yesterday at CBRG* Clairie and I decided we should take it a bit easy. On the pgm was 4 mins fast, 30 secs standing rec, 4 mins fast, 30 secs standing rec, then turn around and try to get back to the start in 8 minutes.
I really enjoy this one, it presents a challenge on the return leg trying to run others down at the same time trying to avoid being run down. So it was a bit of a shame not to be going full bore. Having said that we still ran around 4:30 pace I guess, and we jogged rather than stand for the recoveries.
It was great to have Owen along, he was just one of five newbies. When the evil triathletes found out he was one of their kind they were right on to him.
Its just fantastic, though not at all surprising, that the numbers continue to grow. We have a bit of a collection of Brisbane bloggers there now. Might have to get Robert Song along one day, even if it is just for a guest appearance :-)
* CBRG = Claire Bellenger Running Group (as Pat was calling it yesterday)

I'm not sure that I'd ever class 4:30's "easy". 5:30, now that's closer to easy.
Good luck in Caboolture!
Maybe I can get invited along on "Bring a Friend Day" ;-)
Seriously I do have a couple of speed session penciled in for June.
Ha ha I can't wait to see the video of Pats session next Friday. Then again I hope the one of us doing pushups is not a massive close up of my contorted face trying not to huff and puff on each one!!! Gross.
Caboolture is going to be our 'BIG DAY OUT' We get to socialise, listen to music and do what we like best - running. What is there not to look forward to.
No pressure but we need to get you on the podium so i wont be letting you slack off too much, anyhow I bought the Merlo Coffee beans just in case you need a pick up at 10pm!!
hmmm...as i have done ONE triathlon...and i talked to Owen a lot, i must be evil. he showed no respect at all and kicked my behind on the return leg.
good luck at Caboolture! look forward to reading all about it and some pics of course.
(will use CBRG from now on too...like it)
ooooowwwweeeen!!!!!
Hey Tesso
When your writing your race report about your fine run in "Cabooture" let us know a bit about the race. I have no idea about it it's only a name to me.
4:30 is a pretty good time for a "easy" session.
One and a half TimTams has the same calorie count as a bottle of Gatorade. Not a very good trade I think.
If the 'CBRG' offers easy running, it sounds like my kind of group.
All the best for Saturday. I hope you're not racing any of those evil triathletes.
good luck for tomorrow - wish I could have been there
Hey Tesso,
Thanks for looking after me on Thursday I hada great time. I'm definately a CBRG convert.
O
You looked strong in that photo; the group one.
Hope the weekend went well.
You and Clairie showed great restraint by holding back and taking the session easy!
And you still get to have a nice CBRG run ;-)
Looking forward to the Caboolture race report. Clairie has whet our appetites. Can't wait to hear how you went. I have not had so much as a peek at Cool Runnings for ages.
