Birthday Boy/Girl
Numbers were down at training this morning. Pat reckons maybe too many dagwood dogs were consumed yesterday at the Ekka. Shame, they missed out on wishing him a happy birthday. And on seeing him wearing the famous melon sundress. It got a number of comments from passers by, especially when he asked them "does my bum look big in this?" :-)
Anyway, he must've been having a happy day, he took it a little easier on us. Then again, Noosa Half Marathon is on Sunday so a light workout was in order. We did about 18 minutes of sprints in The Gardens. Toasty was flying, just like the old Microsoft screensaver :-)
What can I expect on Sunday. My Half Marathon PB is 94:03 (Mar 2005). In March this year I ran 96:30 during which the ITB reared its ugly head. GC Half this year was 97:29 after just a month back at training. I've put in solid six weeks since then.
Hmmm, I don't think 95 - 96 mins would be too ambitious.

Lovely to see you on the weekend. All the best for Noosa and 95xx has a nice sound to it.

Lets go for a new PB Tesso....I'm game and willing if you are!!!
I predict 94:04, and you will be rueing that ease off and raised V to your adoring fans as you were crossing the line :-)
Just kiddin', but let it be a warning to you that a PB won't come without a very hard last 2 or 3 km. grrr grit those teeth...don't let Clarie run away from you!!
Good luck for Noosa half.
I'm predicting a low 94 with the Sherbet tribute band striking up 'HOWZAT' as you finish.
You can do it Tesso just don't be like me and talk yourself out of it!!
<95 ahead ok?
If you beat Johnny Darks PB does he have to run C2S next year? Worth a shot. Good Luck Tesso.
Seems we're playing pick Tesso's time here, so I'm going with 94.44 with a negative split once more.
Congrats on your brilliant C2S time, especially the negative split.
It was great to catch up again overthe weekend. Noosa should be scared, Tesso is back.
I've got my fingers crossed for you Tesso - for that PB!! But most importantly enjoy yourself and have a post-race refreshement for me ;-) Wish I was there!
Have a great race what ever you do but I'm sure you'll go for it and surprise yourself!
Come on out and say it...95!..95!
I'm going to be chasing you and Clairie the whole way Tesso, so go for it!
Good luck Tesso!
I know you can surprise yourself!!
Awesome to meet you as we did out in the middle of a run like that!
Cheers R2B
96 .... it's 3 x 32 so a race in thirds sounds about right to me. It also leaves a little room for delight sneaking under the time.
Just settle into a good rhythm early and build from there. You will know where you are at at 14km. If you are feeling good there, bring it home strong like you did last Sunday. Look forward to hearing all about it.
All Noosa half finishers will be on the receiving-end of a commemorative XXXX beer-glass from Gordon Tallis.
Best wishes for Noosa, Tesso. You ran beautifully at C2S and whether you get a PB or not tomorrow, I know that you will give you best, you will inspire us, and show us, as always, how to have fun. Enjoy.
If all goes well, 93:19; if not, 96:11. Looking forward to reading about it Tesso.
Hi Tesso!
Hope you had an enjoyable run today and kept young Owen honest!
Do you still have Pub 2 Pub marked in pen in your diary?
I am thinking of doing it!!
It will be my longest run ever.Sounds exciting to me.
