Coasting

After the BRRC race on Sunday there was a suggestion of a run at the Gold Coast the next morning. So almost 24 hours and a few SMS's and phone calls later about a dozen of us rolled up at Main Beach Surf Club to make the most of the last of the public hols. Included in the line-up was Kelvin, who was still up here visiting rellies.

I was starting to feel the effects of a big week of training - I'd racked up 86k the previous week, 56k of them on hills. So for me it wasn't a fast run. But it was an enjoyable one. People dropped off and returned to the start at different points and I ended up running with Tara and Scotty. After about 45 mins we turned back and discovered we were now running into a slight headwind which helped cool things down a little.

All up we did 17k in around 90 mins, even though the body was a bit sore that time appeared to go fast.

A great brekky at the surf club followed. For a while I thought we'd be there for lunch as well, nobody seeming too keen to move from the air-cond and the great view.

That's quite a impressive weekly total you racked up last week.

Sounds like a great run. Nothing better than a bunch of good people to enjoy a leisurely run followed by a big brekky.
