Back in Business (almost)

After over two weeks of no running and several physio visits I got the go-ahead to hit the road again last Wednesday, just 30mins or so every second day, which didn't feel too bad. It was only slow, but the hammy was still tight enough to make me want to run conservatively anyway.

On Monday Adam (physio) said it would be okay to increase the distance and to run on consecutive days. He's been doing lots of work on my back and glutes, seems that's where the problem lies. Monday arvo following my visit was probably the most free I've felt running in a while, including the couple of weeks before the hammy tore. Yesterday's massage seemed to improve things even more, I've got another one booked for next week.

The Gold Coast marathon is still a possibility. I go to physio again on Friday and hope to get the all clear to do maybe 2 hours or so on the weekend. Go the reverse taper!

I wasn't the only one happy to be back at PCRG :) How's the fog!!!

Even Pat was pleased to see us!

Good news Tess. You certainly are like the eveready bunny! Any chance of dropping back down to the Half at the GCM to give that hammy a bit more time ?

Good to hear the hammy is ok. Like Jen said, maybe do the half so you don't tear it again?

Hmmm. If anyone can do it, you're the one. BUT, do you really need to? I'm a bit wary now of going into marathons carrying injuries, but as they say, once bitten...

Take it easy, and get better easy :-)

Hey Tesso

Good to hear of this progress. Nice photos, that one with you, Pat and Clairie is good. But Frankly I'd be a bit worried about Clairie. How can she be so insanely happy still being not able to train full on. Maybe she knows something we don't, found a secret training method or an undetectable endurance drug!

Hurry up and get back to it Tesso.

Glad to hear that the road to recovery might be a short one Tesso - I reckon you might have gone insane if it was too long!

Good news Tesso. I thought you'd be back soon. Yes, the trusty reverse taper - you can pile on the kms like Qld piles on the points in an Origin game ;)

Great photos. Claire looks too happy - maybe the fog reminds her of Canberra.

If the marathon's too easy, you can always test out the hammy by joining me in the 10k sprint.

p.s. meant to mention that Clairie is looking quite fit and fast, although I suspect she would beg to differ.

She shouldn't beg to differ Steve - she's looking fantastic. Strewth said the same on our run this week.
